Nothing like a ice cold beer on a hot summer day! Here in Florida, our weather is usually pretty toasty so any day is a good day for a nice Grog.
Of late, seems breweries are popping up all over the place. Some brewers start small making batches at home and realize they have mad skills for making great tasting beer. Now I’m not talking about your everyday American brand beer that you find in the local stores….I’m talking serious flavor filled brews. From Blonde Ales, Indian Pale Ales (IPAs), Pilsners and more, the selections these days are so abundant and the rich combination of flavors, citrus, fruits and hops really can make some of these brews stand out.
Here in Florida we have such a great selection of Breweries to visit. They are not only great places to check out the local vibes, but you have the opportunity to see first-hand how the beer is made.
Some of our top favorite breweries are…
We found this gem of a brewery on one of our many trips to the Florida Keys. Located on Overseas Highway in Islamorada, Florida, you can easily see the bright yellow building as you travel down the highway. You can stop in to try their selection of beers and check out their swag shop, a bunch of cool t-shirts, hats and brewery related stuff you can buy.
AND…as if this place wasn’t cool enough, they recently opened another location in St. Lucie County, Florida so they could expand their business and bring their selection of beers to more of the local stores and markets. You can find their beer on tap now at many restaurants and you can find them in the local Publix grocery store which is great. We used to have to drive to Islamorada just to pick up their beer but we can get it locally now too.
A definite must of breweries you’ll want to visit while in Florida.
Nestled in Port St. Lucie, Florida just off of U.S. Highway One in an area of business warehouses, is the Side Door Brewing Co. Ranking high on the list of breweries you’ll definitely want to visit while in the area.
All of the brewing at SDBC is done in premises and can be enjoyed in their tasting room. You can always find something fun going on because they always have events lined up to make your experience a fun one. From Porter-American Almond Joy to Whiskey Barrel Ale, you’ll definitely want to stop in and they are pet friendly too!
Located in downtown Fort Pierce, Florida, this craft beer brewery is the perfect spot to stop at whether in the evening or in the afternoon after a day of fishing. Walking distance from the downtown marina area of Ft. Pierce, it’s a fun place with indoor and outdoor seating.
Sailfish Brewing Company does their brewing on premises and you can see their operation through the large glass windows.
Visit them in the evening and you’re sure to find a band playing music at their outside seating area.
Some of our favorite brews were the Flounder Pounder and the White Marlin.
At Sailfish Brewing Company, you can find a cooler filled with selections of beer and Mz.Perkys – CBD oil infused Cold Brew Coffee for a serious perk in the morning or anytime. They also sell a nice selection of hats, t-shirt and souvenirs to buy for yourself, family or friends.
